The clickable map lets users see at a glance and quickly know the condition of the road network under the responsibility of the Ministère des Transports du Québec. It can be consulted to obtain information on winter road conditions and on substantial slowdowns caused by road work or by any other specific incident on the road network. Waiting time at border crossings and the status of ferry services (in service or not) are also available.

To find out all slowdowns on the road network, click on the tabs By highway or By region.

To give travellers a general picture of the condition of the road network and plan their trips more efficiently, the MTQ screens the information presented on this map. Therefore, certain secondary roads under the MTQ’s responsibility or certain work with little or no repercussions on traffic do not appear on the map.

After selecting a region in the dropdown menu or on the general map, the map of this region is displayed.

All map themes are displayed by default. It is possible to mask them by deselecting the box provided for this purpose. The themes are not all displayed when the map range is on the common scale. It is possible to view them by increasing the scale with the tool “Go to a larger scale”. Illustration

To consult the map, you must select “Click on the map” Illustration, position the cursor as close as possible to the desired map location and click on the left mouse button. An information window appears on the left side of the map. The information is presented as follows:

  • warnings in force of all of Québec, if applicable;
  • the name of the region of the chosen location and the warnings in force for it;
  • in winter, the number of the selected highway or autoroute, accompanied by the description of the road condition and the warnings in force for the section concerned. If no road condition is available on the highway or autoroute at the chosen location, the route number of the highway or autoroute will be displayed;
  • in the case of road work, the slowdown and the location of the work in progress;
  • in the case of a ferry, the municipalities serviced and the status of the service (in service or not);
  • in the case of a border crossing, the name of this crossing and the waiting time at the border to the United States or Canada.

For more detailed information, just click on the route number of a highway or autoroute, the traffic cone icon of a job site or one of the hyperlinks appearing in the information window.
